Eagles fly overhead and the plains are a carpet of wild flowers and mosses. Descend through the gum trees to the crystal clear Cobungra river where we indulge in a gourmet picnic by a historic cattlemen’s hut.
In the afternoon we climb through the forest to emerge at Mount Hotham with panoramic views of the Australian Alps.
